How to request deletion of your data from Dexo.chat

YOUR DATA, YOUR CONTROL. Dexo.chat (operated by COSMODATA - FZCO) respects your right to control your personal data. This page explains how you can request the deletion of your data, including data associated with Facebook Login or other Meta platform integrations.

1. Overview

Under applicable data protection laws — including the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA), and the UAE Data Protection Law — you have the right to request deletion of your personal data. We also comply with Meta Platform requirements for data deletion when you use Facebook Login or other Meta integrations with Dexo.chat.

2. What Data We Store

When you use Dexo.chat, we may store the following types of data:

  • Account Information: Name, email address, phone number, company name, and billing details.
  • Authentication Data: Login credentials and, if you use Facebook Login, your Facebook User ID and public profile information (name, email, profile picture).
  • Messaging Data: Conversations, contacts, broadcast history, and chatbot interaction logs processed through the platform on your behalf.
  • Usage Data: Platform activity logs, feature usage analytics, and session information.
  • Integration Data: Data received from connected Third-Party Channels (WhatsApp, Instagram, Facebook Messenger, Telegram, etc.) and business tools (CRM, e-commerce platforms).

3. How to Request Data Deletion

3.1 Via Email

Send a data deletion request to:

Subject line: Data Deletion Request

Include:

  • Your full name
  • Email address associated with your Dexo.chat account
  • Company name (if applicable)
  • Description of the data you want deleted (or “all data”)

3.2 Via Account Settings

If you have an active Dexo.chat account:

  1. Log in to your Dexo.chat dashboard at app.dexo.chat.
  2. Navigate to Settings → Account → Privacy.
  3. Click “Request Data Deletion”.
  4. Confirm your request. You will receive an email confirmation.

3.3 Facebook Login Data Deletion

If you signed up or logged in to Dexo.chat using Facebook Login, you can request deletion of the data we received from Facebook:

  1. Go to your Facebook Settings → Apps and Websites.
  2. Find Dexo.chat in the list of connected apps.
  3. Click “Remove” to revoke access.
  4. Additionally, send an email to [email protected] with the subject “Facebook Data Deletion Request” including your Facebook-associated email address.

We will delete all data associated with your Facebook Login within the timeframes specified in Section 5 below.

4. What Gets Deleted

Upon a confirmed data deletion request, we will permanently delete:

  • Your account profile and authentication credentials.
  • Facebook User ID and any data received via Facebook Login.
  • Contact lists and conversation history stored on our platform.
  • Chatbot configurations, automation workflows, and broadcast records.
  • Usage analytics and activity logs associated with your account.
  • Integration credentials and data from connected third-party services.

4.1 Data We May Retain

Certain data may be retained after deletion where required by law or legitimate business needs:

  • Billing Records: Transaction records and invoices retained for 7 years as required by applicable tax and accounting laws.
  • Legal Compliance: Data necessary to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, or enforce our agreements.
  • Anonymized Data: Aggregated, non-identifiable analytics data that cannot be traced back to you.

6. Data Export Before Deletion

We recommend exporting your data before submitting a deletion request, as deletion is permanent and irreversible. You can export your data by:

  • Using the Data Export feature in Settings → Account → Privacy.
  • Using the Dexo.chat API to programmatically retrieve your contacts, conversations, and configurations.
  • Requesting a data export via email to [email protected].

Exported data is provided in standard formats (JSON, CSV) within 5 business days.

7. Third-Party Channel Data

Deleting your Dexo.chat account removes data stored on our platform. It does not delete data held by Third-Party Channel providers (Meta/WhatsApp, Telegram, Instagram, etc.). To delete data held by these providers, you must contact them directly through their respective privacy settings:

8. Confirmation & Verification

To protect your privacy, we may verify your identity before processing a deletion request. Verification methods include:

  • Confirming your identity via the email address associated with your account.
  • Requesting additional identification documents for enterprise accounts.
  • Two-factor verification if enabled on your account.

If we cannot verify your identity, we may be unable to process the request and will notify you accordingly.
